You know, I was about to reply to this post with my usual assortment of threats and insults.
But you're right. My corp has been largely inactive for... well, years now. Sure, we still pull off the occasional multi-billion ISK heist or scam... but at this point, we're all so rich that it is truly without purpose. I can afford anything in Eve Online in centuplicate if I put my mind to it.
But why?
What is there left to do, but petty griefs for cheap laughs? We've redrawn the galactic map and pissed on the superpowers of Eve enough times to be quite satisfied with ourselves. If you ever found out who my alts were in the past, you'd be doing most of the pissing. We might not be the best PVPers out there, in fact I know we're some of the worst, and god knows every swine with a Battleclinic profile reminds us of that every day; but each GHSC member has inflicted damage in the tens-to-hundreds of billions.
So... what next? And this is a genuine question... what crime is there left to commit, that we have not yet committed? What unattainable thing should we desire to attain? Back in the old days, when I wanted to make some enemies, I'd make a really arrogant-sounding forum post, see who insulted me for it, then find them and kill them. Nowadays, I can't even bring myself to hate anyone enough to embark on one of my psychotic grief crusades.
You could always pull a Chribba/Morning Maniac/T'Amber and start giving back to the community in some way. I know you've got the "men behind the thrones" mystique to maintain, but between all of you, you guys probably have the most capacity to be a force for good in Eve. Hell, I even get a kick out the gratitude I receive when I send some week-old noob a few million to buy his first Vexor. Imagine what you could accomplish with all the resources at your disposal.
And for what it's worth, my post was more an expression of sadness at the decline of a once-great giant, rather than an out and out insult. You in particular Istvaan were mainly responsible for me starting to play Eve in the first place after reading about your adventures in such august publications as PC Gamer, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. You guys rock. Or at least, you DID rock ;)
